A step back in time to the days when Bombay was Bombay and not
Mumbai. When an evening at the club satisfied all your sensibilities.
Amidst a Bombay that once was it takes you on a culinary experience
to shores that span the globe. Fish and chips from the London dockyards
to oysters a la New Orleans to Thai seafood salads and everything
in between. And a large section of the in between being Goan, Manglorean,
Keralite and Bengali food.
A fine range of wines especially the requisite dry whites that enhance
the delicate seafood flavours that waft across your palate.
There’s also a private dining room with its own bar for that
cozy wedding anniversary or surprise birthday party in an ambience
unlike any other. What with the old maps of Bombay that highlight
how Mahim was once Mayhim and Kamatipura , camatipoora. A compass
to steer your way into the bar and a foghorn to signal the close
of the night.
Owned and conceived by Ashok Shetty who also had a hand in that
old favourite Chinese Palace at Tardeo and designed by Clement Desylva
whose earlier credits include CopaCabana, Jolly Rodgers, Soul Fry
and Soul Kadi.
Quite literally a blast from the past. |
